Alexandria, VA
This lovely Great Falls, VA home had a fussy outdated kitchen in need of some reorganization and refreshing. The beautiful parquet floors, stained ceiling beams, and antique French pantry door provided inspiration for the new design.
Francois & Co.’s Arcadia hood with a Scagliola limestone cream finish and burnished brass trim was chosen as the focal point in the kitchen. The soft white cabinets surrounding the hood on the perimeter off set the Luce Di Luna polished quartzite countertops and water-jet cut multi-colored marble mosaic back splash tile.
A rustic walnut island with ample seating was designed for the new kitchen. The island features furniture legs with satin brass sleeves, and grooved paneling which conceals storage cabinets on each side.
Walnut grooved paneling was used on the backs of glass cabinets and other select locations to highlight areas used for display. This includes a custom walnut plate rack that showcases the owner’s collection of dinnerware.
A new bar was created in the location of a former desk. This furniture piece houses a wine cooler, pull outs for bar implements, and glass cabinets for glassware.
