Kitchen

Our Client moved into a townhouse with water views but with the kitchen in the back of the house there were no views to admire. The dining room blocked the natural light and the kitchen felt secluded and isolated. We removed the wall separating the dining room from the kitchen and re-oriented the kitchen to the long wall. This allowed us to add a long island and a separate bar area. We were able to add seating at the island and increased the floor circulation with the new orientation. The client wanted to re-install some of the new appliances from the existing kitchen. This lead to some of the design choices made and whether or not panel appliances and drove a few of the overall design decisions. Textured laminate and high gloss acrylic finishes were used on the cabinets. A wenge parsons table helps define the island and seating with the wet bar area. The oiled finish on the wood top adds a warm organic feature in an otherwise shiny kitchen finish. Quartz was used to frame out the bar area. We added tall cabinets for extra pantry and utility storage. Cabinets Made by Artcraft in Canada.
