St. Michaels, MD

Date
Kitchen

This otherwise traditional home in St. Michaels received an unexpectedly contemporary kitchen and breakfast area upgrade that blends both styles together perfectly.  A once dark and outdated kitchen that felt tucked away from the rest of the home, is now flooded with light and invites guests in with improved traffic flow and a large island to seat and gather.  By choosing wood finishes, adding glass elements, and re-using the existing apron-front sink, this kitchen and breakfast area stands out in design without harshly juxtaposing the rest of the house’s style.  The same cabinetry was used in both areas of this open-concept room, but adding a black granite waterfall top begins to transition you away from the mostly-white kitchen into the rest of the living space in the home.
