Washington, DC
Our objective was a complete renovation of our 1980’s kitchen and, a better traffic flow throughout the kitchen and the central hallway. This required the removal of a weigh-bearing wall that housed the central HVAC system and, the harmonizing of the new wood floors with the original. Of utmost importance to us, was the merging of a traditional Colonial with a modern appeal. This kitchen shows an amazing merge of old with new while balancing the esthetics of the house. Jennifer Gilmer’s designer, Paul Bentham, and contractor Greichan Development LLC. succeeded in a fait a compli. The kitchen used Mozambique veneer cabinetry encased by the Century porcelain tile from Porcelonosa which accentuated the Negresco leatherized quartzite countertop and island. The appliances from Miele continued the fluidity of the project. The end result is a stunning visual sense of form and function.
