Nancy McCarren, AIA, LEED AP, has worked as a senior designer, project architect, and manager for prominent architecture firms in Washington and Maryland for nearly 30 years. She joined JGKB in September 2019 and is the first licensed architect on the staff.
Nancy’s experience covers a wide range – including high-end residential projects, public and institutional buildings, and historic sites. She has worked on many award-winning projects recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Washington Chapter of American Institute for Architects, and Montgomery Preservation. She has expertise in all aspects of planning, project development, and implementation, and enjoys working closely with clients and contractors.
Nancy received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon School of Architecture & Allied Arts. Before moving to Washington in 1991 she was employed by firms in Philadelphia and New York City. In 2007, she became an accredited professional with the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
