Behind Closed Doors

Explore Jennifer Gilmer Kitchen & Bath's latest project: a stunning kitchen designed for a loft in downtown Durham, NC, within a modern mixed-use building. This innovative design features a pantry wall nearly 18 feet long, offering extensive countertop workspace illuminated by LED lighting. It includes ample storage, a prep sink, trash and recycling pullouts, and a second dishwasher.

The design utilizes clever Hafele hardware that allows the full-height doors to seamlessly recess into the cabinetry, providing unobstructed access to the workspace. The horizontal grain Paldao veneer is meticulously grain-matched across the entire wall of green-stained cabinets, creating a harmonious and cohesive appearance. When the workspace is no longer needed, it discreetly disappears behind closed doors, maintaining the loft’s open and airy feel.
