Transitional Bright Kitchen Design in Chevy Chase, MD

Bright Kitchen Design by #JGKB
In this house, the kitchen is the landing pad – the place that greets the family as they return from their day. They’re busy and dynamic people – the parents are high powered professionals who travel often, the kids are heavily involved in school, sports, and always on the run. This kitchen needed to become a welcoming, serene and calming space, a refuge from the busy day. A central island, topped with warm, live-edge walnut wood, invites the family to comfortably gather around while meals are easily prepared. The use of a sculptural, suspended hood and acid-etched glass cabinetry makes the upper area of the kitchen seem to float. We added large bay windows so to keep the eye moving beyond the walls to the spectacular view beyond. On the opposite wall, inner storage is maximized with a solid wall of pantries, including a hidden countertop and appliance center. A small hutch area solves the mail, family calendar, and the charging of phones and electronics neatly. The space is clean – the mind is clear – the family’s gathered – now to get dinner on the table! Miele appliances were the natural choice for all of the family’s cooking and cleaning needs. The double Master Chef ovens guarantee that every meal will be cooked to perfection. The warming oven holds dinner at the optimal condition until all of the family is ready to eat, and the fully integrated Dimension dishwasher makes clean up a snap. By teaming up great appliance equipment, careful space planning, and beautiful building materials, this kitchen meets and exceeds the emotional, physical, and social needs of the family. It’s now a welcoming refuge from the world, and a place to enjoy the best food and company.
